Morgan Correspondence, 22 letters relating to death of Charles Morgan, he was at time of his death he was Commander of the fort at Alcatraz Island in San Francisco Bay, items incl. orders from headquarters at Alcatraz notifying post of his death, written by then Capt. John Egan, important Civil War veteran, condolence letters and offers of help to General Morgan's widow and to Capt. Egan are present, items incl. 2 letters from Angel Island to Alcatraz and one from Medal of Honor winner, Horace Porter, then vice-president of the Pullman Co., 8 ALS by Brevet Brigadier General Michael P. Small, signed Mike, but corroborated by an additional letter signed by his wife, May Small, ALS also present from Brigadier General Thomas M.
