U.S.; Confederacy, Provisionals (5¢-10¢): New Orleans, La., 1861, 5¢ Ocher, #62X3b, New Orleans, La., 1861, 5¢ ocher, position 10, ample to large margins, horizontally creased and folded over, then tied by "Paid" cancel and "New Orleans La. 3 Sep." (1861) circular datestamp on yellow cover, cover with repaired opening tears clear of stamp and postmarks, stamp has sealed tear (not surprising considering half of it has been dangling off the cover for 148 years), still very fine and quite remarkable.
