U.S., Crooks Express (1855-1860): Scott's River to Virginia, good strike of Crooks Express Scott's River blue oval h.s. on 10¢ Nesbitt envelope addressed to Alexandria, Virginia, carried by Crooks to Yreka, where mailed June 14, 1858, interesting three page letter headed "Klamath River", envelope a little reduced at left, has minor staining and small corner fault at upper right, a very rare cover, Fine to Very Fine. A.B. Crooks operated from Yreka to gold camps on the Scott and Klamath Rivers until he sold out to Prindle in 1860. Estimate $750-1,000.
