Korea; Empire Covers and Used Postal Stationery, 1909 (Jan. 7) Registered 'Samples' Commercial Cover to U.S., #9, Japan 93, franked with Korea 2nd printing 50 poon strip of four and Japan 1 sen Kiku, all tied by indistinct "Seoul" postmarks, 2 bilingual "Registered" straightline handstamps, "Yokohama" transit backstamp (Jan. 10) with Yokohama registration label on front, 2"New York" arrival backstamps (Feb. 4), cover with several folds, attractive 'combination' cover at a multiple of Commercial Sample rate. Korean stamps franking of 150 poons was converted to Japanese equivalent of 15 sen, combined with 1 sen stamp to make 16 sen total postage .
