U.S., Langton's Express (1850-1865): Downieville to San Francisco, fancy black Pioneer Express printed frank on envelope canceled by black Lamping & Co. Downieville oval, Wells Fargo Marysville blue double oval for carriage to San Francisco, sealed tear into printed frank at top, but still a fine and very rare use with markings of 3 express companies, Fine to Very Fine. Samuel Langton was killed in August 1864 and in 1865 the family sold out to Lamping, turning over their unused franked envelopes to Lamping. Estimate $500-750.
