Korea (North), 1949 (Aug. 12) Registered Cover Franked With Three 1wn Flags, #20, Franked with three 1wn Flags red, green & turquoise tied by indistinct postmarks, additionally franked with 1wn Peasants strip of three (Scott #7), with registration label alongside, a bit roughly opened at top, not affecting stamps or markings, all catalogues list the issue date of the Flags stamp as August 15, catalogs $5550 just as used stamps, a great rarity for the North Korean specialist, Fine. Scott $5,400 + (used). Believed to be the earliest known usage of this stamp (predates published date), and especially rare as a multiple-franking . Estimate $1,500-2,000.
