U.S., Revenue, 1863, First Issue, $3.50 Inland Exchange, Imperf on 1864 Lease Document, #R87a, executed in Boston, MA, stamp has three adequate to large margins and is clear at bottom, tiny piece is added at upper left (in the largest margin) which would still yield a four-margin copy, additionally, there is also an assignment of lease executed in 1868 with an additional $3.50 in tax paid by #R86c and R63a, some splitting along one of the file folds but still an outstanding document.
Scott $10,055 + (used stamps). The solo use of the $3.50 first issue is quite scarce, let along the use of the rare imperf variety. This may well be the ONLY surviving #R87a on document .
