U.S., General Issues, 1901, Pan-Americans Complete in Plate Blocks, #294-299, bottom except 8¢ plate, consists of 1¢ n.h. pl. block of 12, excellent centering; 2¢ o.g. pl. block of 10, excellent centering; 4¢ n.h. with slight separations at bottom right row, excellent centering, "small defect in bottom sheet margin at lower right"; 5¢ pl. block of 6 in block of 20 n.h., nice centering; 8¢ pl. block of 8 in block of 10 n.h., nice centering; and 10¢ pl. block of 6 in block of 10 n.h., nice centering, all with large selvages, excellent gum and fresh, Choice Very Fine, 2008 P.S.E. cert. for 4¢.

U.S., General Issues, 1901, Pan-American, 1¢ Green & Black, Center Inverted, #294a, unused, "thin at top center", excellent color, great centering (as nice as it gets), Extremely Fine appearance. According to Johl, the 1¢ Pan-American Inverts were found in at least four different post offices around the country soon after release of the issue in May 1901, including Bessemer Ala., Richmond Va., Utica N.Y. and Connecticut. 2007 P.S.E. cert. graded VG 50.

U.S., General Issues, 1901, Pan-American, 4¢ Deep Red Brown & Black, Center Inverted, #296a, regummed, "covering a thin spot, reperfed at left and a small repaired tear", attractive Very Fine appearance. The 4c Pan-American Invert was a special printing and not regularly issued. Examples were distributed through two official channels, and the gum on the majority of stamps without "Specimen" overprint was disturbed. In fact, because 97 of the stamps were removed from an album page, they are generally thinned or have seriously disturbed or no gum. 1987 P.F. cert.
