U.S. Autographs, Wainwright, J.M. (Military) (1895-1974) American General, signature on corner of WWI AEF German occupation cover from Feb 18 1920, addressed to Mrs. D.E. Halley, Presidio of San Francisco, Calif., bit of edge wear at left, fine piece. Brookman cat. $200. Wainright succeeded Gen. Douglas MacArthur as the Philippine commander and was forced to surrender on May 6, 1942 the American forces on Corregidor.

U.S. Autographs, Wells, Gideon (Secretary of the Navy) (1802-1878), various Naval appointments/promotions and medical records from the Civil War and letter regarding Charles H Burbank, 7 signed by Wells (apparently Burbank was not a well man), plus invitation and dance cards for when the Russian fleet called at Norfolk, VA (where Burbank was stationed later), very unusual group of historical items. Wells was appointed Secretary of the Navy by Lincoln in 1861 and served until 1869.
