Panama, 1886, Original Stock Certificate For Panama Canal, issued February 1886 (ca. 375x175mm), to finance France's efforts to build the Panama Canal, lovely pictorial allegorical engravings by Stern (Paris), with printed signatures of officials incl. Ferdinand de Lesseps, two very scarce French 10c brown Canal Interoceanique de Panama revenues nicely tied, 12 original coupons still attached, a rare survivor, Fine to Very Fine. Each certificate was worth the shares plus entry into a lottery.
