U.S. 1890, 5¢ Chocolate, on Ship Wreck Cover, #223, Adhesive originally tied by Philadelphia duplex 1892 cancel, to London, violet framed "saved from the wreck of S.S. Eider" auxiliary marking, on voyage from New York to Southampton in January she was stranded near St. Catherine's Point in the Isle of Wight, the last 15 bags of mail were not recovered until March 2nd, this cover most likely came from the last bags, the stamp has been reattached to the cover by a pin, great example of a sea disaster cover. Estimate $250-300.
