Macao, 1893 Stampless Letter to Bombay (May 29th) Per HMS Larne, received in Calcutta Aug. 17th, 2 page letter detail situation in Canton and Macau before first Opium War, mentioning Captain Elliot's Public Notice and the proclamation "Captain Elliot arrived here on the 20th….,I am told they were obliged to sign a bond, binding themselves never to return again"… " On the 25th, Captain Parry of the Hercules fired several shotted guns at some man of War junks which were cruising about in the roads.", plus one public notice to H. M. Subjects (Macao May 28th 1839) by Edward Elmslie, Secretary of Treasurer to the Superintendent, also a letter without envelop from Macao to England dated Jan. 20th. 1841, Fine overall.
