U.S.; General Issues, Stampless, 1791 New Orleans to London, 2 pieces; first folded letter dateline 22 July 1791, carried privately to London with 6 FE 1792 backstamp and scarce "W" (window) for letters wrongly posted in the general post for delivery within London; second folded letter (no markings) dateline 8 Aug 1791, mentions "loyalist house burnt by Col. Dickson at Baton Rouge" and certificate from Spanish Gov. Gayoso de Lima, interesting historical pieces, Fine.

U.S.; General Issues, Stampless, 1835 Philadelphia "Ship" Cancel, folded letter with octagon cancel in red showing ship with full sails, Ship 3 Aug receiving cancel in red along side, letter written from American ship "Peacock" at sea, Lat. 11-44 N, Long. 32-S on May 16th 1835, letter completed in Rio de Janeiro on June 20th 1835, contents concern a ship's officer reporting he has returned from Pacific (round Cape Horn) longing for Washington, DC, but now to set sail for Africa, interesting sketch of a horse on reverse, bit of edge wear, Fine.
