4 page letter, from Isaiah to Josh Keller in Crawford Co., OH, incl. U.S. Sanitary Commission envelope with "Due 6" marking, mailed from Nashville, Ten on Aug 10, letter discusses the siege of Atlanta, "Our Army is already around it, the rail roads are cut all but one, and this morning our Corps of the Vicksburg Army have gone to cut that. Cannonading and musketry firing can be heard all day and all night. Even now while I am writing the earth is trembling caused by the fierce cannonading and the bursting of shells. The Rebs continue to charge our lines almost every day and so far have been repulsed every time with frightful loss.", writer goes on to talk about various Generals and other officers, 2 page transcript incl. and U.S. Sanitary Commission envelope dated Aug 10 Nashville, Tenn with Due 6 and ms Aug 19th, 1864, Fine to Very Fine, a wonderful piece of history that comes alive when read.
