  U.S., Aerospace; "Fire Retardent" Reports and Material Samples, A fascinating lot of 3 banker boxes, each filled with samples of material tested and developed by NASA to protect the astronauts after the unexpected and shocking fire in the Apollo 1 capsule (during which astronauts Grissom, White and Chaffee died), NASA ordered a complete review and redevelopment of the Apollo and Shuttle programs using the best fire-retardent material known to man, as part of this process, NASA redesigned the launch vehicle, the command and service modules, and the spacesuits (Beta cloth was developed for this), the material from this lot is from the Mr. Radnofsky's research, many of the samples may be unique today, extensive documentation and reports regarding theses samples are incl., mixed condition but an unique opportunity to see behind the curtain of a crucial NASA program, generally Fine to Very Fine.

U.S., Aerospace; "Filatelica Luna - the Moon, the Men, the Mail", 1980 typed manuscript by Matthew Radnofsky is important source material relating to the covers flown to the moon of Apollo 11-12, 14-17 because Matthew Radnofsky, along with his wife Eunice, conceived, created and developed the covers carried by the astronauts, complete with illustrations, this publication validates and explains both the flown covers and the Postal Service creation of the Apollo 11 stamps and it's lunar flight, generally Fine to Very Fine. To maintain accuracy, Mr. Radnofsky forwarded this typed manuscript to Apollo 11 astronaut Michael Collins who read, and NOTATED this manuscript, incl. is a handwritten note by Michael Collins on letterhead stationery during the time he was head of the Smithsonian Institute, Collins autographs and notations are rare and highly desirable.
