Legal letter headlined "Oregon Territory Willamette Valley March 16, 1847" addressed to Illinois with manuscript Oregon MO Aug.19/47 marking with 10, probably went overland from Oregon in March and put into the mail stream at Oregon, Missouri in August, Fine, This letter is before Oregon became a territory in August of 1848 and just after the establishment of the Astoria P.O. on March 9, 1847 .
