Rhodesia, 1910 Double Heads, 4d Olive-Black and Yellow Orange, SG #140 var., n.h., RSC "D" pos. 49 corner copy, beautifully centered, perfect gum, Choice Extremely Fine, The head color is a deep shade of the SG Key 'olive-black' and the heads have a course appearance which, combined with a lack of detail by the eyes and temples, give both portraits a 'ghostly' appearance. This head plate, with its very distinct upper printer's mark, is only known to have been used in the production of the 2d, RSC 'B' and of this stamp. Ex. Simpson, Gibbs, Strehmel.
Scott #106 var., to date, seems to be only one sheet of this printing with no used examples known, this is the only corner single available as the other 3 corners are in existing multiples, all recorded unused pieces are from the sheet .
