FD's, cancels, vars., souvenir sheets, back of the book, etc., missing certain areas that he had separate binders incl. National Parks, New Year issues, National Athletic Meets, early postcards, currency and ephemera enclosed with the material, missing any better individual items in later period of substantial value, but very thorough throughout with identification, 19th Century mixed condition, 20th Century mostly Fine to Very Fine needs careful inspection.

(1852-1896): "Gerrish" Pony Express to San Francisco, 10¢ "pumpkin" entire (#U41) mailed from New York on Oct. 12 (1861), Wells Fargo type 2 frank in red at left, St. Joseph's Oct. 17 Pony Express h.s. in black (Saint Joseph, Central Overland California & Pikes Peak Express Company with Pony Express), received in San Francisco on Oct. 29, used at the end of the fourth period (Oct. 10 to Oct. 24, 1861), a very desirable cover, Fine to Very Fine last offered on the market in 1972. #W65 (illustrated on page 144) in Frajola, Kramer & Walske book, only 71 westbound covers recorded.
