United States, James Buchanan Exhibit, Free Franks, James Buchanan, 1836, Fifteenth President of the United States, Free Frank and letter all in Buchanan's hand, written during his first Senate term from Lancaster Aug. 17, 1836, letter has political content "I have written to Gov. Brown today according to the request contained in your letter. I should have written sooner but I was absent from Lancaster. I hope it is not too late. Whilst at Bedford I had an opportunity of seeing many of our friends from the West. The party in that quarter are united and harmonious. They are ardent and energetic in their movement. From present appearances I shall be disappointed if M. Van Buren should not receive the vote of the state by a majority of more than 15,000, From Y. Friend, James Buchanan", Fine.
