U.S.; States Postal History, Utah, 1858-59 Camp Floyd, Site Plan by Lt. Charles H. Morgan, original hand drawn folded over ink sketch, about 14"x25" of Camp Floyd, the intended permanent encampment of the U.S. Army at the time of the Utah War, this is believed to be drawn by Lt. Charles H. Morgan, a member of the expedition, the plan of Camp Floyd is extensively annotated with a key of 21 items identified by letters incl. Morgan?s quarters, the billiard room and Phelps battery (whose letters and diaries are a core component of the Utah Historical Society's archives on the Morgan campaign), it also has a schematic at the top for Frogtown (which became Fairfield, Utah in 1861), while unsigned and undated, the Phelps battery annotation is key, as well as the location of Frogtown, very fine condition with very light foxing around the edges, various printed documentation accompanies the sketch, Fine. Found in contents of his personal effects a few years ago. An important historic document associated with the Buchanan administration's punitive expedition against the Mormons in Utah .
