Autographs, Apollo 15 Crew Signed Flight Cover, Commander David R. Scott, Command Module pilot Alfred M. Worden, Lunar Module pilot James B. Irwin, signatures in blue at lower left of cacheted cover with Kennedy Space Center Jul 26, 1971 cancel, with original insert about cover and flight from crew, plus additional card from the crew, addressed to Mr. Herrick, of the 144 Apollo 15 covers which were carried to the moon by Worden, on the USS Okinawa, the Apollo 15 recovery ship, the astronauts placed two 8¢ stamps purchased on board by Worden on each of these covers and they had the covers canceled by the ship post office, the astronauts later autographed these covers while flying back from Hawaii to Houston, 16 covers were torn or damaged and were destroyed, great historical piece, copy of letter from Al Worden to Mr. Herrick authenticating the cover. 100 were printed with cachet showing 15 phases of the moon and marked with launch and recovery dates by F. Herrick, a philatelist and friend of Worden's, Worden gave 40 to Herrick (28 for himself and 12 for Herrick's son) and entrusted the remaining 60 to Herrick for safe keeping .
