P
Baden: Circa 1850 3kr Blue, Unrecorded Die Proof, owners (an accredited U.S. expertiser) notes: although the exact time and circumstances of the production of the "presumed" essay have not been definitely established, microscopic examination of the piece shows its design details to be identical in every respect to the issued stamp, excepting of course, the "secret mark" that was added later but of necessity prior to the fabrication of galvanos from the master, of the genuineness of the piece, there appears to be no doubt, the item has been "washed and cleaned, and is defective", a 1977 letter from Wolfram Seeger regarding the stamp is included, Fine appearance, not a single other such print is known of any of the four numeral values of early Baden, believed to be unique .
