U.S.; General Issues, 1875 Special Printing, 1¢ Ultramarine, #167, ungummed, inscription marginal single, centered right, excellent color and nice perfs, Very Fine for the issue. 45 certified examples, of these, fewer than ten have perforations all around incl. this one as most were cut apart by scissors. 1992 P.F., 2017 P.S.E. certs.

U.S.; General Issues, 1875 Special Printing, 3¢ Blue Green, #169, ungummed, "reperfed at left", nice centering, unusually nice perfs without the usual scissors separations, Choice Very Fine. Ex Siegel 1993 Rarity sale. 1975 P.F. cert.
Scott $21,500. Siegel recently updated records for #169 contain 35 examples that have been certified as genuine by The Philatelic Foundation (incl. one on cover). Of these, only three have perforations all around and are confirmed as sound, one of the nicest copies known .

U.S.; General Issues, 1875 Special Printing 6¢ Dull Rose, #170, ungummed, "vertical preprint paper fold at bottom and slightly faded color, typical clipped perfs on two sides". Not seen on the market for decades. 1996 P.S.E. cert.
Scott $21,000. Census records for #170 contains 35 certified examples, of these, approximately half have full perforations on all sides, very rare .

U.S.; General Issues, 1870-71, 1¢ and 2¢ on 1872 Schooner Cover, #145, 146, sent from San Francisco to the U.S. Coast Survey Schooner Hassler anchored off Bodega Bay, franked with one #182 and two 183 tied with oval bar and San Francisco cds cancels, an interesting historical item; slightly reduced at right affecting one stamp, notations in pencil on back, Fine to Very Fine. The Hassler was the first iron-hulled steamship used in the U.S. Coast Survey.
