Danish West Indies, 1856 Type A1 (1930 Official Hagemann Reprint) Proof in Black, Marginal Block of 6, Facit #N1d, indicated on reverse pos. 2-4, 12-14 and ms. "Plate I", on thin, ungummed, unwatermarked paper, a single proof sheet was printed in black to check the suitability of the printing plate, Engstrom #2-REp-2b, Fine to Very Fine. Before the sheet was finally divided in 1973, the position numbers of each stamp were penciled on the reverse.
