John Girdwood-Pope family spanning from early 1800s through mid-20th Century, large quantity of early stampless covers from various destinations incl. England and Canada to U.S., Scotland and other regions, many with interesting markings, much compelling content, also covers with adhesives, bill heads, court documents, California-related mail, deeds, Revenues on documents, a group of letters pertaining to Sonora Central Mines and the Idaho Central Gold Mining Company with stock certificates for the above mentioned mines, as well as Hercules Electric Company, East Tennessee Land Company, correspondence chronicles family's migration from England and Canada to California, also incl. an early hymn book, The American Young Man's Best Companion 1785 edition, Communion with God 1657 edition, Light of Nature 1654 edition, New Testament and Psalms 1840 edition and a couple of leather bill pouches, please allow ample time for viewing, condition varies.

White House, Congress, Treasury, Post Office, etc., with an extensive collection of official Post Office notifications and various forms to postmasters rarely seen in public, articles (incl. coins) found loose in mail bag, report of rifled parcel post, noted P.O. Dept notice from 1st assistant PM General dated April 2, 1917 "The Dept. of Justice is desirous of being informed as to suspicious characters, disloyal and treasonable acts and utterances", also group of used Dues in sheets and large pieces, a treasure trove of material for the collector or student of the postal system., impossible to duplicate today, generally Fine to Very Fine.

Lackey, a U.S. Navy officer, to his wife and son in Nice, France and Stuttgart, Germany, majority have original covers, generally Fine. The USS Wyoming, a wooden hulled 1480 ton steam sloop, was assigned to U.S. Navy European Station from 1878 to 1881, where she visited many Mediterranean ports.
