In conjunction with the American Stamp Dealers Association Show at the Santa Clara Convention Center

The auction of 3095 lots and has a low estimate of $1.6+ MILLION. It will include; The “Consentini” War Cover collection; the private collection and stock of Ted Caldes of San Diego, CA; the “Strictly Stamp stock of Los Angeles, specialized Switzerland, Canada with Semi-Officials; and Hawaii.

 The ASDA show is scheduled for June 27-29 at the Santa Clara Convention Center show in Santa Clara, CA. The auction will be held in 3 sessions.

The 1st section will begin with over 1000 individual Foreign and British Commonwealth lots. Foreign individual highlights include Austria; China; Germany; Japan with early issues; Mexico; and unusual 20th Century Switzerland.  British Commonwealth consists of over 100 lots of Great Britain; and excellent Canada & Provinces highlighted by excellent 19th Century Canada, the 1898 Port Hood Provisional, and 80 lots of Semi-Official stamps and covers.  The session will continue with Cayman Islands with the 1907 1/- on 5/- double surcharge; and Ireland with many varieties.

The 2nd session will start with the United States single lot portion of the auction. It will begin with over 100 lots of postal history. 750+ singles will continue the session highlighted by a nice run of the “General” issues, Official with Special Printings, Newspapers & Periodicals, and 100 lots of better Hawaii including the 1857 Manuscript “5”¢, Numeral 1859 1¢ light blue on bluish white paper, 1863 Numeral 2¢ dark blue on bluish paper, and postal history including Revenue documents.  This will be followed by the “George Cosentini” War Collection of over 100,000 covers broken down into 130 lots by Naval, APO, and War related. The total estimate for the collection is in excess of $100,000.

 The 3rd and final session consists of almost 1000 “Collections & Various”. It will begin with over 200 U.S. collections with sub categories of “Postage & Modern”; Postal History; Back of the Book; and Cachet & First Days. It will continue with Postcards; Ephemera; and Possessions collections. The Commonwealth Country collections start with 22 lots of Great Britain.  Other better groups include Australia; 42 lots of Canada & Provinces with one estimated at $18,000-22,000; and 28 Commonwealth General lots with one estimated at $10,000-12,000. The Foreign Country collections are highlighted by Austria; China; France & Colonies; extensive Germany (44 lots); Japan; Portugal & Colonies; and Switzerland (mostly from a specialized collector from the Pacific Northwest). This is followed by Foreign General collections.  As always, the sale follows with excellent Worldwide collections (167 lots) highlighted by an intact dealer’s stock (estimate $30,000-40,000); and 51 Scott Specialty albums (estimate $20,000-25,000) on the stamp side, and 2 Zeppelin collections (estimate $6000-8000; and $5000-7000) in the Postal History section. Topical collections, Literature, and Supplies will end the sale.
